Bermi - Waterfall - Bermu (40' one way)
Hiking from Bermi through tropical rainforest we’ll reach the waterfall in an easy 40 minute walk. We’ll take our time to relax, refresh ourselves in the sparkling crystal clear water, and enjoy the beauty around us.
We might encounter birds and monkeys on our way. We will also search for plants and we can teach you about the healing power of traditional Javanese herbal medicine.
On our way back you might want to learn about coffee, cocoa, tobacco and various other plants that grow in this area.

Waterfall Tancak in Gunung Pasang

Gunung Pasang – Waterfall – Gunung Pasang (60’ one way)
Starting from Gunung Pasang, we will hike through tall grass and rich vegetation through Tropical Rainforest up to the roaring waterfall. Immersed in a fully natural surrounding, we will enjoy the beauty and power of nature. If you want you can refresh yourself in the fresh crystal clear water.

Herbal walks in Gunung Pasang or Bermi
Grade: Easy
. The use of herbs and different plants for medical use in Indonesia has a long history and is still common and widely used throughout the area. Locals have a fascinating knowledge about a wide variety of plants and will love to share this knowledge with you on a hike through the jungle. You’ll also get to taste different plants and might be able to drink a few drops of fresh water from a liana.

Craterlake Taman Hidup (“Living Park”)

Bermi – Taman Hidup – Bermi
We will hike uphill for 6 hours on a steep trail through dense tropical rainforest, enjoy the fantastic vegetation around the craterlake at Taman Hidup, relax, catch fresh fish, grill it on the fire in the evening, listen to the sounds of the rainforest, and camp out close to the lake.
The next day we will walk back down for 3 hours whenever you’re ready. Arriving close to Bermi you’ll have the option to hike to the waterfall Kali Anan that you can reach in about 40 minutes. There you’ll find sparkling crystal clear water to refresh your body and soul.

Across Argopuro, 5 days
Grade: Medium
Baderan Busuki – Cicazur – Cisentor – Puncak – Taman Hidup – Bermi
For one week we will trek through different vegetation zones: Tropical Rainforest, Mountain Rainforest, and Savanna.
We will take our time to watch for animals such as wild pigs, turkeys, eagles and deer. Maybe we’ll even encounter tracks of leopards.
We will enrich our kitchen with what nature provides us and will learn about the traditional Javanese herbal medicine.
Sometimes the track is hard, we’ll climb across fallen trees and beat our path through grass as tall as ourselves.
We will pass historical places like the airstrip at Cicazur that was built by the Dutch colonialists as well as the ruins of an ancient temple of Princess Rengganis on the mountain peak of Argopuro.
On our way down we will take our time to relax at the Crater lake Taman Hidup, fish, and enjoy the beauty of the Tropical Rainforest.
If you still don’t have enough we will make a detour and refresh ourselves in the water of the ponding waterfall Anak Kalianan close to Bermi. On our way down we will pass plantations of cocao, coffee, tobacco and various other plants.

Puncak Argopuro, 6 days

Bermi – Taman Hidup – Cisentor – Puncak Argopuro – cikasur - Taman Hidup – Waterfall – Bermi
This trekking is very similar to the 5 day trekking “Across Argopuro”. The difference is mainly that we will have the same starting and ending point of our trip and will take it a little bit slower. Because we will spend the night at the same place during two nights we won’t have to carry our heavy backpacks with us all the time.
Bermi is a good starting point for those coming from Surabaya or Bromo.

Argopuro extreme, 7 days
Grade: Difficult
Gunung Pasang – Cicazur – Cisentor – Puncak – Taman Hidup – Waterfall Kali Anan – Bermi
This trek is quite hard. There are not many people yet who know about this trail. To do this trek one needs one week. We’ll start in the south of Argopuro and come down on the northern side. This is the most interesting path across Argopuro because a rich diversity of fauna and flora can be enjoyed here.
There are still many undomesticated animals; we often encounter black monkeys (lutung hitam) and wild pigs on this trek. The forest itself is also very interesting because it remains natural and untouched by humans. Because there are very few trekkers using this path, the path may be covered by entangled brush and other rich vegetation so we might have to clear it using a bush knife. Sometimes we’ll have to use a rope because the path can be muddy and slippery.
